FPSI provides Candidate Orientation Guides for three entry-level firefighter tests: the CEB, the FACT, and the NFST. Candidates should select the guide that corresponds to the test used by the department where they applied. This is the only choice that affects their, optional, preparation.
Some guides are offered in multiple versions. These versions are identical in their instructions and explanatory content; they differ only in the practice items included at the end. For this reason, any version of the CEB Guide is appropriate for candidates taking the CEB, and any version of the FACT Guide is appropriate for candidates taking the FACT. The NFST Guide is available in a single version.
Choose the guide that corresponds to your test (CEB, FACT, or NFST). If you want more practice items, you may use additional versions, but they are not required.
