This calculator is designed to provide you with an estimate on the total costs to conduct an entry-level firefighter recruitment process with fully validated assessments. This estimate will include the three most widely-used assessments used by US fire departments across the country for traditional firefighter recruitments (e.g., a written test, a physical ability test, and an oral board). You can choose to use only a written test from FPSI, or you can select our widely-used physical ability test and oral board options to round out your recruitment process.

The virtual oral board rater training will provide raters with instructions, guidelines, and helpful tips to ensure that objectivity and structure is maintained throughout the process. This training is invaluable to new raters who have never served on oral board panels or anyone who wants to ensure reliability and mitigate candidate complaints. This is a one-time fee of $1,000.
