Orange County tests with FPSI

 

The Orange County Fire Authority recently used FPSI's "Comprehensive Examination Battery and Practical Skills Test (CEB-PST)" for it's entry-level firefighter recruitment process.

 

The CEB-PST Test measures basic aptitudes shown to be critical to successful firefighter job performance.  These aptitudes include:

• reading ability

• mathematical reasoning

• human relations

• reasoning skills

• map reading

• writing ability

The written test was administered to nearly 3,000 candidates interested in obtaining a firefighter position within Orange County.  Many of the candidates enhanced their preparation efforts by purchasing the CEB-PST Candidate Orientation Guide from FPSI.  The orientation guide provides information on working in the fire service industry as well as sample test items similar to those included on the actual test form. 

 

Those candidates who successfully passed the written test provided by FPSI were invited to participate in the oral board process.
